I started my career working with studio and location photographers in London and Paris. During this time I travelled extensively worldwide on fashion, portrait and reportage assignments for editorial, brochure and advertising clients. It was after one such expedition that I was given the opportunity to photograph the Caraja Indian tribes of the River Araguaia, Brazil, that began a life long passion for photographing people and gained me my first professional assignment with British GQ Magazine.
I then became a regular contributor to The Saturday Telegraph Magazine and the 'Arts and Books' pages of The Daily Telegraph photographing actors, authors and musicians. I became a regular contributor to the Sunday Independent Review and the Condé Nast Traveller Magazine and since then my work has appeared in numerous publications in both business and arts publications.
I live in London and have two sons.
Please feel free to drop me an email if you have any queries regarding work.
I have frequently assigned Darren for editorial portrait and reportage/lifestyle photography. Apart from being a terrific photographer he is the most positive person I have ever worked with. He has impeccable manners and is a great communicator; a true " people person" who gets along with the most tricky of subjects. Darren has always come back with excellent and creative results that without fail has fitted the brief. He's never let me down, and after 35+ years in this business that's quite something.
